Marketing-SEO.com is an outlet for my thoughts and ideas on marketing and promoting blogs.

I’ll admit - I’m a little late to the blogging game, but I’ve been marketing in some form or another on the web since 2002… I even started some blogs a couple of years ago, but at that point I didn’t really ‘get it’ and they soon were abandoned like thousands more are each and every day.

About six months ago it all changed - the company I was working for wanted to look at blogs as a form of Reputation Management (’cause their reputation sucked), and I set about learning all I could as fast as I could… it took about three days of intense study before I got to that ‘A-ha!’ moment and finally ‘got’ blogs… before I knew it, another six weeks of intense study had passed and I was in awe at how deep the inner working of blogs can get once you scratch away the surface. I still shake my head today at how something that looks so straightforward at first glance, can be so complex once you get into the details… I was hooked.

Starting a few small blogs and experimenting with different strategies was the next step - my main aim was to learn the ins and outs of Wordpress, fine tune my processes and test the waters of the social networks (another thing I’ve been slow to adopt). About six weeks ago I started my first ’serious’ blog, KeywordSEM.com that focuses on Keyword Research (something I’ve been involved with for some time), but instead of sticking to the regular keyword analysis tools that look exclusively at search engines, I’ve been stretching that to explore the ways people find information on social networks - it has, and continues to be, a fascinating journey.

…and now I find myself here - it takes a little while before you find your ‘blogging voice’, but I think I am finally approaching something close to it. Marketing-SEO.com will be somewhat informal, it’ll contain a lot of my thoughts and tips on marketing and SEO for blogs, as well as touching on Wordpress hacks and plugins that’ll make your life easier with finding and keeping readers. It will focus on the ‘conversation’, it’s not meant to be a one-way flow of information, the more thoughts of your own you can add to the discussion the better.
